Welcome to Soane Materials

At Soane Materials, we are reshaping the landscape of consumer goods with groundbreaking biodegradable materials. In the face of the ever-increasing environmental and health challenges posed by plastics, our mission is clear: innovate safe, natural materials to replace single-use plastics forever. Our transformative chemistry and material science technologies pioneer how the next generation of household products are made, shifting the balance from complete reliance on plastic to natural, sustainable solutions.

The problem with traditional plastics

Traditional plastic, derived from fossil fuels, has long been a staple in our world, with uses ranging from food packaging to textiles. However, its prevalence comes at a significant cost to the environment. Plastic can take hundreds, if not thousands, of years to decompose, leading to an endless accumulation in landfills, oceans, and ecosystems worldwide. The resulting microplastics eventually end up in our bodies forever.

Our breakthrough

We have transformed ordinary biomass by unlocking and leveraging its innate material properties. Cellulosic materials are known for their strength, flexibility, and durability in a wide array of applications. With a highly unique approach, we have redefined the economics of deploying engineered cellulosic materials, allowing them to be used globally across a multitude of applications and industries.

We are hiring, now

Based in Miami Florida, we are hiring the mighty minds, curious souls, and earth-keepers who want to put their advanced degrees in chemistry to work. Are you ready to tackle plastic pollution in your lifetime before it tackles you?
Come join us. On-site. Full-time. Miami, Florida.

Hello, good chemistry.

We’ve engineered our Soane biodegradable materials to have the same mechanical properties that customers demand.

Farewell, forever plastics.

The throwaway culture is over. Our innovative green chemistry unlocks a sustainable roadmap for change that works.
