Alexandra Eisenreich

Research Scientist

Alexandra Eisenreich is a research scientist at Soane Materials, specializing in the development of sustainable solutions for cleaning and disinfecting products. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics, and a minor in Economics. Alexandra’s research background spans pharmacology and chemical biology, with experience in high-throughput in vitro screening of ion channels and in silico modeling. She joined Soane Materials shortly after graduating in May 2024, bringing her interdisciplinary expertise to the team’s efforts to address the environmental challenges associated with conventional cleaning products.

At Soane Materials, Alexandra is part of an innovative team focused on reducing the environmental impact of cleaning products, particularly those that contain high water content and are packaged in plastic containers. While these products play a crucial role in consumers’ daily lives, they contribute to plastic pollution and increased greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. Alexandra’s current work is centered on developing bio-based alternatives that minimize plastic use in cleaning supplies. She is specifically focused on creating flushable toilet bowl cleaners that are compatible with a range of antimicrobial and cleaning agents, aiming to improve both the environmental footprint and the user experience of everyday cleaning products.
